Five Trees Press was founded in San Francisco in 1973 by Kathleen Walkup, Jaime Robles, and Cheryl Miller. The press focused on printing the work of women poets both famous and unknown.
The colophon states that "[t]his book was designed and printed by Kathy Walkup, who finished it in June, 1976. There are 500 copies in the edition; 50 of them have been handbound in boards at the press & are numbered & signed by the poet. The illustration and ornament are by Robin Cherin, Jungle Press."
